The
body of the fifth passenger killed in Thai plane crash in Laos last
Wednesday was found in the Mekong River yesterday , according to one of
the officers involved in the restoration work .
Body
Nonthaburi native Ripol Chaichana - kuldee , 27 , was spotted by the
search and rescue team and was expected to be brought back to Thailand
today , according to a team member Prasop Sarnsamak .
The
Ripol among the five Thais killed when Lao Airlines ATR - 72 sunk into
the Mekong on its approach to Pakse Airport in Champasak . The crash killed all 49 people aboard the plane .
The body of the fourth victim to be Thai , Yanyong Apaanan , 29 , an engineer PTT , is brought back to Thailand yesterday .
Local
news agency Vientiane Times reported that according to a senior
government official , the Lao Airlines main wreckage of the plane has
been recovered but the two " black box " flight recorders must be
located again .
The
fuselage was removed from the river by floating crane , while other
divers found several pieces of wreckage - but not the black boxes among
them , despite signal is detected in the area .
The
director general of the Department of Civil Aviation of Laos , the
Vientiane Times said Yakua Lopangkao and divers were expected to recover
to start looking for boxes yesterday .
"
If the black box recorders are still attached to the tail , then they
will be easier to find - but if they are cut off [ in the accident ]
then the task more difficult , " he said, adding that visibility the muddy river was so poor that divers only feel for the devices using their hands and feet .
